I actually just moved down the road from there atr Schick and Springfield. I fish there occasionally but now I might need to get out there tomorrow.
In the apartments east of the mall, houses north of the mall, or the new condos they are building?

You live about 3 minutes from me, I'm at Lake and Rodenburg, basically.

For shore fishing, all I can recommend is taking a walk and getting away from the beaten path. I used to hate Mallard Lake, but I got a kayak a few weeks ago, and Mallard has been good to me since.
I'm a subdivision just north of the mall. I know where you are, probably passed by last night on my way up to schaumburg.

I agree with the last point. My best luck has been at points very far away from the entrance. I'll have to get the boots out and start hiking again.

Have you ever fished the pond in there before? I never have curious if it worth a darn to walk there.

Went out this morning from 7:30 to 9:30 - first cast with a Yum Dinger just north of the first bridge, a Northern comes flying out of the weeds within touching distance and snaps me off. :x We saw him twice more but never another bite. We hit two other spots but no bites. Slow day for everyone we talked to.

One interesting thing we saw on the way back was what appeared to be a stocked pond on Thorn Ave (the one that goes behind Meijer). It was an old construction company or quarry but it had a sign that said Catfish, Trout but I never stopped to see what it really was. Anyone know?
