There are different sections of it. Are you talking about fishing Salt Creek itself or the surrounding lakes like Cricket?

Coincidentally I just took my son to a few spots on Salt Creek itself in an attempt to lure him away from Lake and Pond fishing and get him into River Fishing. We just got home about an hour ago.

Mission accomplished.

Crappie, Sunfish, Bluegills, LM Bass, Striped Bass.. it was a good time.

I got the skunk yesterday at both this Salt Creek place and at Wood Dale Grove after 3 hours of fishing.
I do see potential. Yes, you do park in the Devry Parking lot and walk over the bridge. At one point there is a sign that says forest preserver boundaries. I didn't walk past there cause I wasn't sure if it was legal or not but the bike path continues.

I first tried the lake after climbing down through the brush and it is definetly a fished area, I could tell by the garbage left behind. The water was choppy due to the wind and it was very hot, I think if the conditions had been better and it was closer to sunset it would have been better. I only used artificial lures instead of the usual night crawlers so that may have had an effect on it. After this I took another trail down to Salt Creek and fished there with no luck either except getting snagged on wood.

I had two nibbles at Wood Dale grove but was unable to bring anything except the algae. This was the same problem as last year I kept getting caught on the seaweed.

I think its where the rectangle is.
The picture above is by the top circle. Under the bridge.

The lower circle is also a fun spot to fish. Mostly panfish though, a few bass. You have to use a small enough lure however. There are no monsters yet that Ive seen..
