I am going to ride up there around noon it's says 23mph winds from the south west.

I'll take some pic's/vid and we can decide but I think I know the results

Last time I rode up there to check it out it was just about the same...white caps

There is going to be maintenance being done at the hosting company for this site tomorrow from 8am-4pm. Access will likely be intermittent.

If you are not able to access the site I will post the status of the tournament on Facebook at:
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=53959942622
Feel free to join WCF on Facebook as well!

Right now, it's probably not a go for Saturday.

Man, I really hope all the weather reports are wrong. I've been looking forward to this one.
They are wrong.... it's worse than first expected

Temp and wind graph for Saturday

To all gas motor operators, be sure and have a fire extinguisher on board. Also a battery box with the battery terminals covered for you electric trolling motor guys.. Of course life jackets also. The DNR seems to be very active this year.

TOURNAMENT CANCELLED

Sorry gang, with the predicted winds on Saturday, fishing Deep Lake will simply not be possible or safe. Mike (basscaster) is there now and the current winds of 14mph have the lake all roiled up. With predicted winds of 25+mph, even kite flying would be tough.

We will post a make up date soon!

This reminds me of last year's April tourney. Call me stupid, but I still feel like going out there in the AM to check. If it's not good, we can always go to the lagoons or anywhere else along the north side?

Whether we have a tourney or not, I just want to fish.

Sucks  .....even at 14 or 15mph there were white caps starting to form
20 to 25+ would just be crazy.

Hide if you go up there any way..... take some pictures.

Thoese that want to head up Saturday to give it a try are more than welcome
It's just not going to be an offical WCTT event....Good luck if you go
it's going to be windy !!!!!!

I know it's a bummer guys, but I CANNOT have an official event with the predicted conditions. It ain't about "toughing it out", it's about common sense and safety in a ROWBOAT.

EVERYONE is welcome to go fish where ever you'd like, including Deep Lake. But this tournament is canceled and will be rescheduled.

I so hate to cancel tournaments... but I just down
loaded the data from National Weather Service

Gusts at 29mph  Nasty !!!!!

If you guys go..please report back so we get a good baseline on what can be fished with reguards to Deep wind,,,,,(ya if you went ....we know your going to say it was fine ) but please let me know the real deal.

I think 10 to 15mph is ok with gusts to 20 is Fine...... but 20 to 30mph :?: Wind direction is also key you can fish Deep
with big winds if it comes from the East because the big hill blocks much of the wind but out of the SW...it's hard
Why?? it's the lowest part and the wind can wip across that body of water. Been there done that...never again....lol

As of the last hour here is the "Forecast" from the National Weather Service.

To me that's big windy waves

We will see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
