I think that I will try St. Charles first. I hope to try it tomorrow evening as long as I am not wiped out after cleaning that bike trail in Lake Bluff. I appreciate all of the help out here.
 
Just north of the boat in Elgin is a steel retaining wall running along the east side.

Walk along the wall, cast straight out into the river and let your lure swing down stream. Tick the bottom of the river. I know jig/twisters work.

Haven't done this in many years, probably never will get up that way again. I imagine it still works.

Start saving now for waders, you're missing far too much of the river by being stuck on shore.
