ED - "Also, the ratio of hunters to deer is nowhere near high enough to even make a dent in the deer populations. "

ED.....2007 Illinois Firearm Deer Season harvest totals 116,708
More than 31,000 deer taken during second firearm deer season.

Thats seems like enough to make a dent in the population.

Wrench you just seem to not READ anything I've said, not sure if you don't get it, or just haven't bothered to read it. I asked larry about harvesting fish so I WASN'T being disrespectful. If anything I WAS respectful by asking him. He gave the go-ahead, so we kept a few fish. If he had said to me "I'd rather you didn't keep any, the area is fun to fish, but there aren't too many here to be caught and I wanna keep it a good fishery for years to come" then I would happily have practice complete CPR…If you're angry with me and my brother, then be angry with Larry too, for obvious reasons.

So if we go out hiking or biking in the forest, and I point out areas I see a ton of bucks at in the fall, and then you go out and hunt them, I should feel disrespected because I love seeing deer when I'm out in the wild? Come on.

Btw, I have no problem with you hunting deer. I wish we had some more natural predators for deer to be honest, because they are everywhere, and it gets to the point that more of them starve to death in the winter from lack of food, than die to hunters... To correct your point, hunters really don't help keep the deer population in check....as most of the forest preserves, at least near me, do now allow hunting any time of the year. Also, the ratio of hunters to deer is nowhere near high enough to even make a dent in the deer populations.

You referred to Ken keeping fish as "disgusting" and you're giving me crap for keeping some walleye. We're licensed to catch, and keep those fish, if we choose, just like you're licensed to kill and keep those deer... You like venison, I like walleye. You're being a huge hypocrite.
It's totally different when the Game Wardens want you to kill deer! Also for forest preserves being over populated. IL is just messed up. In WI forest preserves, they allow a certian amount of Hunters to go into the forest preserves for like 1 or 2 weeks and take as many deer as they want with there Bow. They do this for a reason... But yes, I said they were legal fish and theres nuttin I can do. The point was moving in on my good Buddy's spot after fishing there 1 time, then going and pounding it for 2 nights and taking more than a dinner!... Give me a break. Your a Joke! I know someone else not to fish with now... I hope I never see you there...

Actually you know what... I Hope I do!

Last numbers I saw, there were about 1,000,000 deer in Illinois... So, 14% of those fell to hunters. I'm not an expert by any means, but I'd have to say the reproduction rate far exceeds that 14%.

He said he has in the way past. but not anymore. n he said like 1 or 2... I heard him, you guys took 6.. i wonder what you kept the night before... Lets just drop this mess as I know its disrespect to do that, especially when larry put you on the hole and he told you to call him over the weekend if you plan to go, but then you didn't... you moved in on the spot and killed them "Like seriously KILLED them"

Making threats now? lol

Btw, we only took "1 or 2". None of us live together. We all have our own homes and families. So taking 6 fish COMBINED is nowhere NEAR overharvesting. We took 2 fish each. We have never taken any fish from the Fox river before this. We've been out 5-6 times in the last month. I have also taken a combined ZERO fish home all fishing season up until last night. You really need to chill out.

Why would it be removed? Because you're making yourself look like an absolute ass, wanting to fight someone over taking a few fish out of the river? lmao...

Maybe you need a woman in your life to relieve some of that undue tension? Seriously.

Never said i wanted to fight buddy. im saying maybe it will make a little sense to talk in person than to bullshit over the internet...

Dave knock this shit off. There is nothing wrong with them taking a few as long as they dont abuse it as I mentioned. If you want to bitch at someone come talk to me. You should have no part in this at all.

I understand what you're trying to say, but you're making yourself look like an ass. Larry isn't feeling disrespected, and I invited him to go out on the Fox somewhere Tuesday night... If Larry isn't offended, and it is, by your own admission, his spot, why are you so pissed off? What's the point of sharing a spot with someone if they're not supposed to fish it? heh

ED - You also have to consider this. I know where I hunt in southern IL there are many people I know personally that shoot as many deer as they want and never call to have them checked, heck they dont even have tags for these deer. Say I know 10 - 15 people that do this just in the area I hunt. Then there is alot more than just them. I understand why they do it to, they cant afford the license and the tag and they need to eat and feed there families. Im not saying its the right thing to do, Im just throwing it out there. Plus never seeing a game warden in the twenty years I have ben hunting down there doesnt help anything. But by the percentage you just told me then I guess your ar eright....WE NEED MORE HUNTERS!! But the future does not look positive for that.

It's all good Ed, look, we get emotional about it becaiuse the BUCKETHEADS don't give a rat's ass if they DESTROY a population, why they'll just move on to another place and LITTER and ABUSE that local.... Wrenchin' ,take a pill, no REALLY.... I catch and release almost ALL of the fish I catch an OCCAISIONAL Walleye (under 18" they taste way better...and slamon /trout from the lake, MAYBE half a dozen crappie if they are decent size and the water qual is good - and that's it-for freshwater anyway....) Walleyes are FAR more prolific in they're reproduction and growth rates by comparison to bass and pike. The MAN ALREADY SAID, it's his ONE time, he and his freinds took TWO each (as opposed to the FIVE each they could take LEGALLY!), and HE PAID FOR HIS LICENSE, unlike THE MAJORITY OF SCUMBAGS that blow out areas. Just be HAPPY, he's A: An HONEST , HARDWORKING, DECENT AMERICAN. B: He WILLINGLY SHARED his story AND pictures with us. C: He PAYS FOR HIS LICENSE! - and as he said, RELEASES MOST of the fish he catches, as opposed to KEEPING EVERY SINGLE FISH , be it LEGAL OR NOT.... Ed, THANKS for sharing, people just get TOO emotional sometimes, please forgive them, as I myself do at times when this discussion comes up (especially with 4 lb + BASS-the BREEDERS ....) , but both you guys, thanks, ...and AT LEAST WE CARE!!!!! BE SAFE ON THE WATER!! - Alex
